basic driving skills encompass a range of fundamental techniques, including steering, accelerating, braking, and using turn signals. it is crucial to understand and obey traffic laws, signs, and signals. practice in difference in different roads and weather conditions to build confidence and experience. always stay focused, avoid distractions, and prioritize safety for yourself and others on the road.



intermediate driving skills build upon the basics and include more advanced maneuvers and techniques. these may involve navigating complex intersections, executing safe lane changes, mastering defensive driving strategies, and effectively handling various road conditions such as rain, snow, or heavy traffic. it is also important to understand how to anticipate and react to potential hazards on the road. in addition, this course includes parallel parking, perpendicular parking, angle parking, and parking on hills. 



advanced driving skills go beyond basic and intermediate levels, focusing on mastering complex maneuvers and handling challenging situations with confidence. these include advanced techniques such as defensive driving at high speeds, evasive maneuvers to avoid collision, skid control and recovery, precision for tight spaces or specialized driving environments, and understanding vehicle dynamics for optimal control. in addition, this course includes highway driving, merging onto highways, maintaining a safe following distance, changing lanes responsibly, and exiting properly. advance highway skills include managing traffic flow, anticipating potential hazards, and adjusting speed based on traffic conditions and weather.



expert driving encompasses a mastery of all aspects of driving, including advanced techniques, situational awareness, and a deep understanding of vehicle dynamics. experts can handle any driving scenario with confidence and precision, whether it's navigating complex urban environments, driving in extreme weather conditions, or executing high-speed maneuvers on race tracks. they prioritize safety, anticipate potential hazards, and exhibits exemplary driving behavior at all times. achieving expert status typically requires years of experience, ongoing training, and a commitment to continuous improvement. in addition, this course includes canyon driving that involves navigating winding roads with steep incline and declines, often with tight turns and limited visibility. additionally, being aware of potential hazards such as falling rocks or wildlife is essential for safe canyon driving.

dmv driving test

the driving test is the final assessment to determine if a person is qualified to obtain a drivers' license. during the practice test, examiners evaluate the applicant's driving skills, including maneuvers like parking, lane changing, turns, and obeying all traffic signals.

*you may also purchase insurance for the driving test at an additional $50 which will include a retake of the driving test at no extra fee if the student is unsuccessful.

available monday - friday only. the length of the service will typically depend on the business of the particular dmv. includes pick-up and drop-off service.
the service is exclusively offered to students that have completed the minimum of 6 hours training with 10-8 driving school.

policies

enrollment guidelines:
payment - all packages require full payment prior to scheduling. please call or text to register at (818) 554-0758.

refunds - all refunds are based on a case by case scenario. a $30 administrative fee will be added to process the refund..

cancellation - 48 hours notice is required prior to cancel without penalty. driving lessons are conducted in rain and other strict weather conditions. if you cancel less than 48 hours notice, there is a $100 charge for rescheduling. no exceptions.

lateness - instructors will wait for 20 minutes for the student to arrive if he/she is showing up late. there will be no make-up time. if the student does not show up after the 20-minute grace period, you are concsidered a no-show.

no-shows - if the student is a no-show for a lesson, there is a $125 charge for rescheduling, or the lesson is forfeited. no exceptions.

certificate - for teenagers; after 3 lessons/ 6 hour driving lessons are completed. 10-8 driving school will issue a certificate of completion. the behind-the-wheel certificate provided is needed in order to take the dmv driving test. if the certificate is lost and has to be replaced, there will be a $50 replacement fee. 
10-8 driving school staples the certificate to the student's driving permit to prevent them from losing it.
